Back Pain is the leading cause of workforce loss and disability. It will impact up to 84% of adults at some point in their lives. It is even becoming a global health crisis. Many individuals opt for pain medications, injections, or even surgery. Some attend physical therapy without achieving lasting results. My goal is to change that.
My aim is to provide you with resources which make it easier to get back to doing what you love, whether that be running, tennis, weight-lifting, dancing, playing an instrument, playing with your children, traveling, or maybe even working at a desk job for long hours. Through movement, and virtual coaching it is possible to heal your back and restore optimal function so that you can live life unhindered.
Back in Stride PT is my personal story, as I injured my back in a weekend warrior run back in 2014. While I was in PT school, I learned how to use the tools I was learning to strengthen and heal my back. However, over the years I experienced flare ups which hindered me from progressing in lifting in the gym and running as well and I sought out Physical Therapy myself. I found some relief with attending Physical Therapy but still ran into flare ups from time to time. I continued to seek further knowledge for myself and my patients and completed the NAIOMT fellowship program which opened my eyes to important key elements I was missing in my own rehab. As I refined my knowledge and skills, I also used this knowledge to make myself more resilient and was finally able to achieve my personal goals of progressing with lifting and running without experiencing the frustrating set backs I experienced in the past due to back pain. Using evidenced based knowledge, but also experiential knowledge has helped me tremendously in helping over 500 clients to also heal their backs and take back their lives.
